Specialized Workshop on: Children and Mobile Technology

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) is holding a specialized workshop on: Children and Mobile Technology, May 10-11, in cooperation with GSMA and a wide participation from, mobile operators, internet service providers, NGO's, media representatives, concerned local entities and Arab Regulators Network "AREGNET" members.
The workshop looks at this issue from several angles, including cultural differences regarding children’s use of mobile devices, child online protection and whether regulation is necessary or not.
The agenda of the workshop will tackle and cover many important topics, such as: acknowledging benefits while mitigating risks, safe use of ICT by children, online child sexual exploitation, regulators role, and media responsibility in raising awareness
